A full-cover four-leg rain suit for big dogs that fits itself to her chest: a four-way-stretch shell, an elastic-gathered waist and two buckle straps let each size cover a span of girths rather than one figure. The laminated shell is seam-sealed with heat tape instead of stitched, so there are no needle holes for water to work through. A zip down each flank, four sleeved legs, a hood and tail sleeve that both lift off, a port for your own leash, and a relief opening at the rear so she can go without undressing.
Most rain coats stop at the back and fit one exact chest, which is why a big dog still comes home soaked from the elbows down, or wears a suit that binds on a barrel chest and gapes on a lean one. This one is cut as a full suit and sized as a span: a four-way-stretch shell, elastic gathered through the waist and two buckle straps down each flank let each size take in a range of chest girths, so the suit settles to her shape rather than asking her to match it. Four sleeves finish in elasticated cuffs you can draw in at the ankle, a zip runs the length of each flank, and every seam is heat-taped rather than stitched through.
Underneath, the shell carries on. It wraps her back, both flanks, her chest and the whole front and middle of her belly, so the part that takes the spray off a wet pavement is covered rather than left bare. The one gap sits at the rear: between the hind legs there is a relief opening, its edge bound in tape rather than cut and left raw. That is what lets her go mid-walk without the suit coming off or you kneeling in the wet to undo it. What still comes home wet is that opening and her bare paws below the cuffs — that is what the towel is for.
The shell is a four-way stretch fabric, so it gives where she does instead of holding her to one length of stride — which is usually what decides whether a full suit gets worn or shrugged off at the gate. Its seams are heat-taped rather than stitched through, so the joins have no needle holes for water to find. A stand-up collar keeps the wind off her throat, and between the two buckle straps and the elastic gathered through the waist, each size covers a span of chest girth rather than one exact figure — at 4XL that span runs 29.5 to 37 inches, so a barrel-chested Labrador and a leaner shepherd of the same body length both land in the same suit.
The hood carries a clear brim that sits above the eyes rather than over them, so she keeps watching the path while the rain stays off her head. A reinforced opening in the back panel lets your own leash clip straight through to her collar, so nothing about your usual setup has to change. Silver piping runs along both flanks and down all four legs, and in Hi-Vis Lime the whole suit reads from a long way off on a dark wet afternoon.
Everything that touches her is finished soft: the collar and tail openings are bound in tape rather than left as cut edges, the zip pull tucks under its own flap, and the hook-and-loop is a low-nap type that lets go of fur instead of holding on to it.
A rain suit spends its whole life against skin, and sooner or later a cuff ends up in someone’s mouth, so what the shell is dyed with is worth asking about. The mill states this fabric meets the REACH restrictions on substances of concern and passes a German azo-dye test, the check for the dye compounds restricted in clothing worn next to skin. That is the mill testing its own cloth rather than lab work of ours, and we would rather tell you which it is than let a badge speak for us.
The tail sleeve is the part you can change your mind about. It lifts off, so the same suit works for a dog whose tail you would rather leave bare and for one you want covered end to end. Sizes run from a 4 lb dog up to a 187 lb one, so measure her back length and chest first and work from the chart rather than from her weight alone. The chart carries the sleeve lengths themselves, front and rear, because on a full suit the legs are usually what decides the fit: a Corgi, a Dachshund, or a Basset will find sleeves cut for a standard leg far too long, and a tall, leggy build like a Standard Poodle will find them running a little short even in the right chest size. One thing the chart still cannot tell you: at XXL and below the tail sleeve is cut narrow, so a heavily feathered tail is happier left bare.
Where breeds usually land, as a starting point rather than an answer: a Bichon or a miniature Poodle around L; a Shiba around XL; a Beagle, a Border Collie, or a lighter Samoyed around XXL; a Husky, a Sheltie, or a smaller Labrador or Golden Retriever around 3XL; a heavier Golden or Labrador around 3XL Plus; a Standard Poodle, a German Shepherd, or a full-grown Labrador around 4XL; a big Shepherd or an Alaskan Malamute around 4XL Plus; and the largest Malamutes and Shepherds at 5XL. Two dogs of the same breed can sit two sizes apart, so the tape still decides.
Rinse or wipe down after wet walks and hang to dry away from direct heat — heat wears down the waterproof coating. Skip bleach, softener, and ironing.

Fits a span, not a size

Your leash, unchanged
An opening on her spine, just behind the hood, lets the D-ring of her own harness come through the suit. Put her usual harness on first, dress her over it, and clip your leash straight onto the ring as always.
Walk beyond the familiar
Four full sleeves each finish in their own elasticated cuff just above the paw. The wet lands on the shell instead of wicking up her coat, so she walks through the puddle rather than around it, and the long way home stops being a decision about mud.

Sealed, not stitched
The shell is laminated and its seams are heat-taped rather than stitched, so water beads and rolls off instead of finding a way in at the joins. She arrives dry under the suit rather than damp and cold, and the towel-by-the-door routine gets a lot shorter.
Two suits in one
Sizes marked "+ tail" end in a tapered snap-on sleeve cut from the same seam-sealed shell, so on rain-all-day walks her tail comes home as dry as her back. The day she would rather carry it free, the sleeve unsnaps and the suit wears exactly like the standard cut. Standard sizes skip the sleeve and leave the tail out through the bound opening.
If she ducks the hood
The hood and shoulder cape are one panel, held on by snap studs along the collar and the back. Unclip them and the same suit works for a dog who has never accepted anything over her ears, with the four sleeves, the zip and the straps all unchanged. It stops being a coat she puts up with and becomes one she just wears.
Made for a thick coat
The collar and the tail opening are bound in soft tape instead of being left as a cut edge, and the zip pull tucks away under its own flap. On a golden or a shepherd that is the difference between a coat that slides on and one that tugs a handful of hair every time. Getting dressed stays a five-second thing at the door.

Measure back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, and chest girth at the widest point just behind the front legs. The leg columns are the sleeves themselves, measured from the top of the leg down to the cuff — compare them against your dog’s legs so the cuffs land above the paw rather than dragging. Between two sizes? Size up for easy movement.

It is a rain shell, and the laminated coating that makes it one does hold some heat in. The hood and the tail sleeve both lift off. Keep it to cool, wet walks and take it off once you are back inside; on a warm, dry day, leave it at home.
Measure back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail while your pet stands naturally, and chest girth at the widest point just behind the front legs. Compare both against the Size guide above.
It is charted in 12 sizes (XS–5XL Plus) for a chest girth of 15–52.8 in, roughly 4–187 lb. Go by chest girth first and use weight as a rough check. A dog whose chest measures more than 52.8 in is past the largest size.
Size up. A slightly roomier fit keeps shoulders free and makes it easier to get on and off; too snug restricts movement. And if it does turn out too roomy, swapping down a size is free.
The coated shell is built to shed steady rain on everyday walks. In prolonged downpours some moisture can eventually work through seams and openings, so towel off and hang it to dry after very wet outings.
Let them sniff it first, then start with short indoor sessions with treats before the first wet walk. Most pets settle once they connect it with going outside.
