Description
A padded walking harness with three girth straps, six adjusters and two top handles: a tall one to steady a dog over an obstacle, a short one for close control on a narrow path.
Most harnesses hold a dog with one strap across the chest. This one uses three, at the chest, the mid-body and the rear, each closing with its own side-release buckle and each running through its own tri-glide slider. Six sliders in all, so the fit is set to the dog in front of you rather than to a size letter, and a sudden pull is shared between three points on the body instead of landing on the neck.
A padded panel sits over the back and shoulders and spreads that load. The underside of the side wings and the straps that meet the coat are lined with mesh.
Two handles ride on top. The tall webbing loop is for the step up a dog cannot quite make on her own; the shorter one behind it brings her in against your knee when a path is too narrow to step off. The leash clips to a polished metal V-ring bar-tacked to the webbing at the top front, sitting above the coat where you can find it in the dark.
Reflective piping traces the panel and runs along the strap edges. It is passive trim: it returns a car’s headlights toward the driver, and it is not a replacement for carrying your own light.
Four sizes, five colours. Measure the neck and the widest part of the chest before choosing:
XS, neck 13.8 to 16.9 in, chest 18.1 to 23.6 in, for dogs around 9 to 22 lb
S, neck 17.3 to 21.7 in, chest 22.0 to 29.9 in, for dogs around 20 to 44 lb
M, neck 18.1 to 23.6 in, chest 25.6 to 33.9 in, for dogs around 40 to 73 lb
L, neck 22.8 to 29.5 in, chest 31.9 to 44.1 in, for dogs around 73 to 121 lb
The weight ranges are a guide; the neck and chest measurements are what decide the fit. A leash is not included.

When something bolts across the path
She turns hard, and the load goes where it should
Something breaks out of the undergrowth and she is already turning. Three padded girth straps sit across her chest, her ribs and her hips, so a sudden pull is shared between three points on her body instead of landing on her neck. She can lean into it and still breathe easily. You get to walk the interesting trail instead of the empty one.
Two minutes at the trailhead
Set it once in the car park, then forget it
You crouch down on the gravel and pull the straps snug before you start. Six tri-glide sliders adjust independently, so you fit the harness to the dog in front of you rather than to a size letter, and three side-release buckles mean nothing has to come over her head. She stands still for it. Then the two of you get going.
The step up she cannot quite make
A handle where your hand already wants to be
The trail hits a rock ledge and she is a foot short. The tall webbing lift handle is stitched to the top of the padded panel, so a steadying pull spreads across her back and shoulders instead of pinching one strap. She keeps her feet under her and finishes the step herself. The obstacle stops being the place you turn around.
Where the leash actually clips
One metal ring, on top, in plain sight
The last thing before the door is the clip. A polished A-shaped metal V-ring is bar-tacked to the webbing at the top front, sitting above her coat rather than buried in it. She waits on the step with her feet square. Leaving the house stops being a two-handed job. A leash is not included.
Passing another dog on a narrow path
A short handle for the ten seconds that matter
The path is too narrow to step off and there is a dog coming the other way. There are two handles on top, a tall one and a shorter one just behind it, so you can bring her in against your knee with one hand without shortening the leash or reaching for her collar. She stays beside you and keeps walking. You both pass, and nobody makes it a thing.
The last loop, after the light has gone
What headlights give back
This is the walk you do in the dark for half the year. Reflective piping traces the arc of the padded panel and runs along the strap edges, returning a car's headlights toward the driver. She walks ahead the way she always does. The short evening stops deciding whether she gets a proper walk. Reflective trim is passive: it needs someone else's light, and it is not a replacement for your own.
When she leans toward the water
Her weight lands on padding, not on her throat
She has seen the lake and she is already leaning. The wide padded chest strap and the padded body panel carry that lean across her chest and back, keeping the load off her neck. She can pull hard and still breathe normally. You get to stand there and let her look for a minute.
Back at the car
One hand on the handle and she is down
Boot open, paws filthy, and the last bit is the drop onto the gravel. The wide handle stitched along the top of the padded panel gives you somewhere to hold while she finds her own footing, so the load spreads across her back instead of pulling on one strap. She steps down in her own time. The end of the walk takes about as long as it should.
