Description
A padded nylon collar with your dog’s name and number laser-engraved into a stainless steel plate that slides onto the webbing and lies flat. Nothing hangs, so nothing jingles, snags or comes unclipped.
The ID plate is stainless steel, laser-engraved with the two lines you choose, and it threads onto the webbing so it lies flat against the strap instead of hanging from the ring. Anyone who reaches your dog can read it on the spot, and there is nothing swinging under his chin to chime against a bowl at night or catch in a hedge.
The webbing is nylon with two reflective lines stitched the full way round both edges, so a car’s headlights come back off him from whichever side they arrive. The inside face is lined with soft neoprene padding, and a non-slip tri-glide holds the length you set on the first afternoon. A side-release buckle opens with one pinch, and the rust-resistant D-ring stands proud of a doubled section of webbing on dense box-and-cross stitching, so a leash hook finds it first time.
Four sizes cover necks from 10 to 24 inches and dogs from roughly 9 to 66 pounds. Measure your dog’s neck and leave room for two fingers before you choose.

The five minutes that decide how the day ends
A gate left open, a gap in the hedge, and he is two streets away with someone he has never met. The stainless plate is laser-engraved with your name and number and sits flat on the webbing where anyone can read it on the spot. He stays calm because a stranger already knows what to call him. You get a phone call instead of a search.
The evening it arrives
It is held on, not hung on
The webbing runs through a slot at each end of the steel plate and two keepers pin it flat against the strap, so his ID is part of the collar rather than something clipped to it. There is nothing hanging off him to swing, catch on a fence or come unclipped in long grass. He wears one thing instead of two. You stop finding tags on the kitchen floor.

Get it right once and leave it alone

The dark half of the year, same route
From October the evening walk happens in the dark. Two reflective lines are stitched the full way round both edges of the webbing, so whichever side a car's headlights come from they come back as a bright dashed line at his neck. He walks the route he always walks. You do not have to cut the day short because the light went.
The house goes quiet
A collar you can leave on at night
Most of the noise a collar makes after dark comes from something hanging off it. Here the name and number are etched into a flat plate held against the webbing and the D-ring is left empty for the lead, so there is no disc to swing or chime against a bowl at three in the morning. He sleeps through. His ID is still on for the one night it turns out to matter.
The swim you did not plan for
Wet is not a problem for the part that matters
He finds the water before you have decided whether he is allowed in it. The ID is laser-engraved into stainless steel rather than printed on, and the ring is a rust-resistant metal, so a soaking does not lift his name off or leave a rust mark down the webbing. He gets the swim. You just get a wet car.
Back through the door, muddy
Off in one hand, while the other one holds the towel
Coming in from a wet walk is a one-handed job. The side-release buckle opens on a pinch of its two wings, so the collar is off before he can shake and nothing has to be pulled over his ears. He gets dried without a wrestle. You get the hallway back.
