A sherpa fleece pullover cut for big dogs: two sleeved front legs, a snap-close belly panel, and a slit in the back so the lead still reaches the collar underneath.
Cold mornings are one of the ordinary reasons a big dog stays home. This is a sherpa fleece pullover cut for them: a thick, soft polyester fleece face, a smooth woven panel across the belly, and only two front legs to thread. The rear stays open, so a seventy-pound dog is dressed in a few seconds instead of being wrestled into a full suit.
A single row of snaps runs down the centre of the belly. You bring the two panels together underneath and press them shut. Nothing is pulled over the head, nothing is threaded up a hind leg.
High on the back, just below the collar seam, there is a plain slit in the fleece. Pass the lead’s hook down through it and clip it to the collar or harness your dog is already wearing. The coat stays where you put it and you never have to lift it to find the ring. To be clear about what it is: the slit is an opening, not an attachment point. The pull is carried by the collar underneath, exactly as it was before.
The front sleeves run past the elbow and finish in a gathered cuff, and a contrasting band stands up around the neck. Sizes run 3XL to 7XL, fitting chests from about 30 to 38 inches. Measure your dog’s chest first: on a two-leg coat that is the measurement that decides the fit, and the weight range is only a guide.
Rinse or wipe down after wet walks and hang to dry away from direct heat — heat wears down the waterproof coating. Skip bleach, softener, and ironing.

At the door
The belly panel opens flat and closes on a single row of press studs, so a big dog puts two front legs through and you do the rest from the side. No hauling four legs into a suit on a cold floor before you have even opened the door.
When they lie down
The sleeves run past the elbow and finish in a gathered cuff, so the part of a dog that meets cold stone first has a layer of sherpa fleece over it. Stopping halfway round the block to sit and watch the street stops being a reason to turn back.
Stepping outside
A contrast band of the same sherpa fleece stands up around the throat instead of lying flat. That is the first place the wind finds when you open the door on a cold morning.

Size up. A slightly roomier fit keeps shoulders free and makes it easier to get on and off; too snug restricts movement. And if it does turn out too roomy, swapping down a size is free.
The coated shell is built to shed steady rain on everyday walks. In prolonged downpours some moisture can eventually work through seams and openings, so towel off and hang it to dry after very wet outings.
Let them sniff it first, then start with short indoor sessions with treats before the first wet walk. Most pets settle once they connect it with going outside.
